With a lot of talk recently on the fibre & rural broadband roll-outs in New Zealand and Australia, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on what this new generation of fast connectivity can enable for businesses and public services such as education and healthcare.
Fibre is great in that it enables you to shift vast amounts of information around quite quickly and cost-effectively. But what is really important is to ensure this connectivity is used to enable better business outcomes, improved public services and helps to create more opportunities for export and economic growth.
And that is the challenge for organisations like Gen-i – creating that demand for fibre-enabled services. So in the video below, I also share how Gen-i is gearing up for a fibre future.
These are just a few of my thoughts – I’m keen to know what you think. What can fast broadband enable in your business or community? Share your feedback in the comments below, or find me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/chrisjquin
