Yesterday, we announced that we will be conducting live client trials of Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile technology later this year in preparation for the evolution of our XT network to 4G.
4G will deliver an even faster mobile data experience for our clients.
We look forward to helping our clients harness the capabilities 4G enables to adopt new applications in areas such as cloud computing, mobility, video and collaboration tools.
Our focus with 4G will be on supporting businesses to adopt smartphone devices and mobile applications that help them become more agile and better able to respond to customer needs.
Combined with the rollout of fibre, new mobile technologies like 4G open up opportunities for businesses to develop applications and services that increase productivity, deliver flexibility and robustness, and cut costs.
Our clients rely on us to help them maximise their existing ICT investments and easily extend their business applications out to mobile devices.
This includes integrating mobile into hybrid end-to-end networks combining mobile, fibre and copper technologies.
We see it as our responsibility to deliver real leadership that will help our clients make the most of this new technology.
Late last year we held an LTE Showcase to demonstrate how 4G is being used to deliver new applications for consumers and businesses. We are now in discussions with a range of clients, including Kiwirail, Mitre 10, Mainzeal and Countdown, to see how we can trial LTE in their business.
This exciting news has recevied some great media coverage such as in the Dominion Post and NBR.
If you have any questions about our 4G plans, or would like to register your interest in participating in the trial, please contact me on Twitter or chat to your Gen-i client manager.
